Working as an independent designer and illustrator, I have solved design challenges for many clients including Radiolab, WNYC, NPR, Wee Trio, Bravo, Oxfam America, Control Group, Visual Goodness, Brooklyn Children's Museum, and AT&T.

AOL

2008 to 2009 Design Lead Black Voices

Manage design team for AOL's Black Voices Channel: the number one African American Online site. Schedule, direct and approve artwork for main site and special promotion sites and hubs; coordinate and guide web builds and production with internal development team and international resources. Recent projects include the complete redesign, rebranding and restructuring of the Black Voices Blogs and the redesign and restructuring of Black Voices Boards.

2006 to 2008 Moviefone/ Television Senior Designer

Responsible for Moviefone sites and promotions, including: Enhanced Movie Product pages; Awards packages (Oscars, Golden Globes, Sundance Festival, Emmys, TV's Top 5!); and AOL Television Channel. Create visually compelling designs while balancing user navigation needs with SEO guidelines. Completed comprehensive site redesign with cleaner look and more intuitive navigation. Supervised summer interns. Provide excellent client service to internal parties (management, ad teams) while collaborating with a variety of technical teams.

1999 to 2006 Designer/ Production Artist

Thrived in small creative team environment. Developed initial design concepts for presentation to clients. Worked with clients to outline creative direction and delivered design projects through development and into production. Created original artwork and illustrations. As a Production artist, I worked closely with the project manager and design team to review the project scope and develop a production timeline; evaluate needs, possibilities and limitations of the project; outline project concepts and coordinate job production.

Final project was a culmination of skills learned in proper structure, navigation, and information architecture.

Peterson's College and Career Guides

1996-1999 Graphic Artist/Editor

As part of the Electronic Publishing and Internet Services Department, I worked with the in-house team to develop graphics and create animations for Peterson's website and related projects; created graphics for presentations and in-house use; selected and edited photos, logos and maps for College and Career Guide software; developed interface and splash screens for several software packages.

1995-1996 Freelance Designer

As a Freelance Graphic Artist/ Editor for a small multi-media CD-ROM producer, I was responsible for preparing photos and maps for four volumes of Berlitz travel disks under strict deadlines. I also took on the responsibility to create the 'look and feel' for the several of the discs' navigation interface.

1992-1995 Production Assistant and Publishing Associate

Production Assistant: As part of the production team creating multimedia for math and science curriculums (grades 3-5) I coordinated lighting, blocking and talent on location; sourced video and film clips; scouted and secured locations for video shoots; negotiated contracts with free-lance workers; and designed and built props for video production.

Publishing Associate: As a Publishing Associate I organized and laid out educational text materials and workbooks for nationwide distribution; edited and implemented layout changes of text and graphics; and coordinated changes to text and layout to accommodate translation into three languages.
